Chisels

  • I’m probably going to start a woodworker fight with this recommendation. For the money and usefulness right out of the box, it’s hard to beat Narex Richter Extra Bevel Edge Chisels. Don’t get me wrong, you still need to properly flatten the backs & front bevels to get the most out of these chisels. It’s obvious they used a buffing wheel at the factory to get a mirror shine on the back of the chisels. The backs are not perfectly flat. That said, they are very sharp and slice wood fibers better than most chisels right out of the box. You can’t go wrong investing in these chisels. LINK HERE

  • Ok, sometimes you need a chisel for destructive purposes that are not suitable for your expensive everyday woodworking chisels. That’s why I have a cheap set of Buck Brothers chisels. They are also great for sharpening practice. Beat ‘em up, regrind the bevel, beat ‘em up some more. LINK HERE
